Rabbi Meir Eisenstadt, widely known as the Panim Me'iros, was a posek who held rabbinic positions in Poland, Germany, and Moravia, culminating in his service as rabbi of the Seven Communities in Eisenstadt. He authored the responsa collection Shu"t Panim Me'irot, a work containing halachic rulings and novellae on the Talmud. In his final post, he led a prominent yeshiva that drew students from many regions and influenced the character of the local Jewish community.
