Rabbi Malachi Montefoscoli was an eighteenth-century Italian posek who served as rabbi of Livorno. He is known for his work Yad Malachi, a methodological compilation in three parts dealing with the rules and technical terms of the Talmud, the codifiers, and legal decisions. In addition to his scholarly works, he wrote a Sefer Torah by hand that became an authoritative reference for the correct formation of Hebrew letters.
