Rabbi Gedaliah Schorr was a Rosh Yeshiva at Yeshiva Torah Vodaath in Brooklyn and a leader in American postwar yeshiva education. His discourses on Torah thought were published posthumously in the sefer Ohr Gedalyahu, a collection of shmuezen he delivered on the parshiyos and chaggim. He began as a maggid shiur in the 1930s, was appointed menahel in 1948, and served as Rosh Yeshiva from 1958 until his death, guiding the institution for decades.
