Rabbi Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Bloch was the Rosh Yeshiva of the Telshe Yeshiva, a role he continued after transplanting the institution from Lithuania to the United States during World War II. His leadership was defined by his commitment to the "Way of Telshe," the yeshiva's unique system of learning based on inductive reasoning. Along with his brother-in-law Rabbi Chaim Mordechai Katz, he re-established the yeshiva in Cleveland, Ohio, and also served as a leader in Agudath Israel of America.
