Rabbi Eliyahu Meir Bloch was a Lithuanian-American rosh yeshiva who co-founded the Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland after fleeing wartime Europe. He was shaped by the Telz tradition and is associated with Machatzis HaShekel-style analytic learning carried from the Telz yeshiva into American Torah life. He also played a leading role in rebuilding Telshe and in broader Agudath Israel leadership.
