Rabbi Eliyahu Kovo served as Chief Rabbi of Salonica. He compiled Tana D’vei Eliyahu, a collection of 451 responsa, though most of the work was subsequently lost. His grandsons later collected twenty-six of these responsa and published them as Shu"t Aderet Eliyahu.
