Rabbi Eliyahu David Rabinowitz-Teomim, known as the Aderet, served as the rabbi of Ponevezh and Mir. He later moved to Yerushalayim, where he became the father-in-law of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kook. His extensive annotations on the Yerushalmi and his responsa are considered significant contributions to halachic literature.
