Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, son of Rabbi Nosson Tzvi Finkel, served as Rosh Yeshiva of the Mir Yeshiva in Poland and later in Jerusalem. He led the yeshiva through World War II, relocating the institution to Shanghai. Under his guidance, the Mir Yeshiva expanded into a significant center of Torah study.
