Rabbi Elchanan Wasserman was a leading student of the Chofetz Chaim and a prominent Rosh Yeshiva in pre-war Europe. His works, Kovetz Shiurim and Kovetz He'aros, became standard texts in yeshiva study. He was murdered in the Holocaust.
