Rabbi Elazar Rokeach served as Chief Rabbi of the Ashkenazic community in Amsterdam. He authored the kabbalistic commentary Maaseh Rokeach on the Mishnah, published in Amsterdam in 1740, along with Arba Turei Aven containing responsa and chiddushim on Maimonides and the Talmud. He later settled in Safed where he opposed the spread of Sabbatean literature.
