Rabbi Elazar Azikri was a kabbalist and ethical writer in 16th-century Tzfas, a disciple of Rabbi Yosef Karo. His primary work, Sefer Charedim, organizes the Torah's commandments based on the human limbs involved in their performance. He also composed the devotional poem "Yedid Nefesh," which was incorporated into Jewish liturgy.
