Rabbi Dovid Shlomo Eibeschutz was a posek and communal rabbi in Galicia and Bessarabia, and an early disseminator of Chassidus in the region of modern-day Romania. He authored several works, most notably Arvei Nachal, a book of Chassidic sermons on the Torah, and Levushei Serad, a halachic commentary on the Shulchan Aruch. In 1809, he moved to Eretz Yisrael and settled in Safed, where he completed these works before his passing.
