Rabbi Yehoshua Dovid Povarsky was a Rosh Yeshiva of Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak, a prominent Lithuanian yeshiva of the post-war era. He studied under Rabbi Yerucham Levovitz at Kelm. His leadership of Ponevezh helped establish it as a center of Torah study and preserved the Lithuanian yeshiva tradition in Israel.
