Rabbi Dovid Frankel, also known as Rabbi Dovid Mireles, served as chief rabbi of Berlin in the mid-18th century. He authored the influential commentary Korban HaEdah on the Talmud Yerushalmi, a work which gave a great impetus to the study of this text. He was also the primary teacher of Moshe Mendelssohn, who was his talmid in Dessau and later followed him to Berlin to continue his studies.
