Biography

Rabbi Dovber Schneuri was the second Rebbe of the Chabad Lubavitch chassidus and the successor to his father, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi. He established his residence and leadership in Lyubavichi and devoted his tenure to guiding the spiritual and material life of Chabad chassidim. He was a prolific author of Chassidic and Kabbalistic teachings, including extensive maamarim later collected in sefarim such as Shaarei Orah, Shaarei Teshuvah, and Maamarei Admur HaEmtza’i.
