Rabbi Chizkiyahu de Silva was a Sephardic scholar and author born in Livorno who studied in Yerushalayim under Rabbi Moshe Galante. He authored Mayim Chayim, a collection of chiddushim on Talmudic treatises and the Yad of Maimonides, as well as numerous responsa. He engaged in halachic controversies, notably supporting Rabbi Moshe Chagiz in disputes over rabbinic authority.
