Rabbi Chaim Halberstam was the rabbi of Nowy Sącz, where he founded the Sanz Chassidic dynasty and became known by the title of his sefer, the Divrei Chaim. He authored the multi-volume halachic work Divrei Chaim, which includes responsa, sermons, and rulings on ritual purity and divorce law. In addition to leading his community for over forty-five years, he established a major yeshiva in Galicia, and his teachings remain a point of reference for Chassidic communities worldwide.
