Biography

Rabbi Yaakov Betzalel Zolty served as Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Yerushalayim from 1977 until his passing. He authored the responsa collection Mishneh Ya'avitz on Choshen Mishpat (1963) and a companion volume on Orach Chayim laws of festivals (1976), along with Ginzei ha-Sifrei on Sifrei (1948). He also headed the Beis HaTalmud of Yad HaRav Maimon and Yad Aharon Yeshiva, and taught in yeshivos in Israel.
