Biography

Rabbi Ben Zion Halberstam was the second Rebbe of Bobov and a leading chassidic rabbi in Galicia, succeeding his father Rabbi Shlomo Halberstam in 1905 as head of the Bobover chassidus. He continued and expanded his father's educational work by founding a broad network of yeshivos, including the Etz Chaim yeshiva in Bobowa, with a strong focus on youth. He authored a Torah commentary titled Kedushas Tzion and was murdered by the Nazis near Lwów in 1941.
