Rabbi Ben Zion Abba Shaul was a Sephardic posek and rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Porat Yosef in Jerusalem, where he spent virtually his entire life immersed in Torah learning and teaching. He is best known for his multi-volume halachic work Or LeZion and for founding the Ma'ayan HaChinuch HaTorani network of Torah schools for Sephardic children in Israel. His halachic rulings became widely influential in late twentieth-century Sephardic halacha.
