Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Bloch was Rosh Yeshiva of the Telz Yeshiva and communal rabbi of Telz, succeeding his father, Rabbi Yosef Leib Bloch. He developed the Telz derech in lomdus and mussar, guiding the institution through the interwar period until its destruction. His shiurim and essays, preserved in the work Shiurei Daas, reflect the intellectual style of Telz and became a primary record of that tradition.
