Rabbi Rabbi Avraham Yeshaya Karelitz, known as the Chazon Ish, was an influential posek and leader of Haredi Judaism in the 20th century. He authored the multi-volume work Chazon Ish, a comprehensive analysis covering large portions of the Talmud and the Shulchan Aruch. Although he never held a formal rabbinic position, after settling in Bnei Brak he was accepted as a worldwide halachic authority, and his home became a central address for religious guidance and communal matters.
