Rabbi Avraham Mordechai Alter was the third Gerrer Rebbe, known by the title of his primary work, Imrei Emes. He led the largest Chasidic movement in pre-war Poland. He escaped the Holocaust and subsequently rebuilt the Gerrer community in Eretz Yisrael.
