Rabbi Aryeh Leib Gunzberg, born in Lithuania, was known for his analytical intellect in Talmudic law. He authored the Sha'agat Aryeh, a collection of responsa, and Turei Even, a commentary on several Talmudic tractates. He served as the Chief Rabbi of Metz, France, for two decades until his death.
