Rabbi Rabbi Abraham de Boton, known as the Lechem Mishneh, was a rav, posek, and rosh yeshiva in 16th-century Salonika. He authored Lechem Mishneh, a commentary on the Rambam's Mishneh Torah that clarifies passages which appear to contradict the Talmud. After learning of Rabbi Yosef Karo's recently published Kesef Mishneh, he designed his work to be a complementary text, and it was subsequently printed in most standard editions of the Mishneh Torah.
